KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Eastbound and westbound I-435 under the Nall Avenue Bridges will have varying lanes closed overnight for boring work for a fiber optic system beginning at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 and reopening to all traffic at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 17, weather permitting.

All interchange ramps will remain open during the overnight closures. Scheduled overnight lane closures are as follows.

11 p.m. Saturday, May 16 - 4 a.m. Sunday, May 17
Eastbound I-435 right three lanes will be closed first (one at a time until all three lanes are closed at the same time). These three lanes will be reopened and then the far left lane will be closed.

3 a.m. - 8 a.m. Sunday, May 17
Westbound I-435 far left lane will be closed first. Once this lane is reopened, then the right three lanes will be closed (one at a time until all three lanes are closed at the same time).

Advance message boards will alert drivers to the lane closures. Traffic will be directed through the work zone via cones and signage. As well, law enforcement will be on site to help with traffic control overnight. Drivers should expect minor delays during these overnight lane closures.

The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
