BASEHOR, KAN. ---- For most of the season, the 14-0 Basehor-Linwood Bobcats boys basketball team has not needed luck, with the team's margin of victory averaging around 20 points.

But following his team's 65-62 victory against Piper on Tuesday, Basehor-Linwood Bobcats head coach Mike McBride said his team was "lucky" to finish the regular season sweep against the Piper Pirates.

BASEHOR, KAN. ---- Playing just its second game in about two weeks, the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats boys team took a while to pull away from Bonner Springs on Friday night.

But a 20-4 run in the third quarter got the job done, as the Bobcats remained undefeated after winning 66-58.

Jack Dale's 20 points led the way and Pat Muldoon's 15 points contributed mightily to the victory.

BASEHOR, KAN. ----- Entering a basketball game as a slight underdog for the first time in the 2014-15 season, the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats delivered a big statement win over a loaded Park Hill team.

Claiming its second straight Basehor-Linwood Invitational Championship and seventh overall, the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats defeated Park Hill, 69-61, in a back-and-forth affair.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Bobcats advance to finals after 73-56 win against Ottawa

BASEHOR, KAN. ---- The Basehor-Linwood Bobcats overcame an early 16-1 run by the Ottawa Cyclones to advance to the finals of the Basehor-Linwood Invitational Tournament.

Basehor-Linwood improved to 10-0 on the season after the 73-56 victory against Ottawa.

Early on, thanks to a hot-shooting Ottawa team, the Bobcats were in a 16-4 hole. Ottawa converted on four straight three-point shots to flip an early four-point deficit into the 12-point lead.

SPORTS: McPherson offers more late-game heroics against Piper as Bobcats survive, 68-63

KANSAS CITY, KAN. — When Jahron McPherson graduates from Basehor-Linwood High School here in 2016, there will be a lot of happy people.

His family, his coaches and the Basehor-Linwood community will all be proud of him.

But among those happiest to see him go will be the Piper Pirates basketball program.

McPherson scored seven critical fourth quarter points, as the Bobcats avoided an upset bid by the young Piper Pirates, 68-63.

Patrick Muldoon's 21 points and Carson Fliger's 20 points led the way, but it was McPherson's late game heroics that helped the Bobcats survive and pull away.
