Within seven hours, KCK firefighters respond to two fires on street

In just over a span of seven hours, the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department responded to two fires on the same street.

KCK firefighters responded to fires at 2026 N. 9th Street and 1617 N. 9th Street.

  • 1617 N. 9th Street – Firefighters responded to this fire just after 10:15 p.m. Monday evening. The fire committed about $20,000 worth of damage to the property and $2,000 worth inside. No injuries were reported and the KCKFD had the fire under control within 20 minutes of arriving on scene.
  • 2026 N. 9th Street – About seven hours earlier, firefighters responded to a fire here. The fire caused just $5,000 worth of damage and no one was injured. It occurred at a vacant home. The fire was contained to the front of the home and was under control with 15 minutes.

Both fires are under investigation by the KCKFD.
