Hannover Heights becomes the first neighborhood to clinch Google Fiber

The Hannover Heights neighborhood of Kansas City, Kan., has become the first neighborhood to clinch construction of the Google Fiber technology.

The small area located just south of the University of Kansas Hospital and University of Kansas Medical Center has had seven percent of its neighborhood sign up for Google Fiber since the 11 a.m. announcement.

The pre-registration deadline for Google Fiber is September 9.
