Wyandotte County immigration company ordered to stop doing business

A Wyandotte County immigration company has been ordered by the State of Kansas to stop doing business.

Wyandotte County District Judge David Boal ruled in a court order today that Centro Migratorio (also known as Peoples Central Migratorio) would be barred from doing any business in the State of Kansas.

According to a release from Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt's office, the company has been under investigation for allegedly violating the Kansas Consumer Protection Act.

Schmidt also said the business has failed to cooperate after multiple subpoenas were issued out.

“Companies that operate in the state of Kansas must follow all the consumer protection laws of our state,” Schmidt said. “Our office will not allow companies that engage in misleading or illegal activity to continue business practices.”

Boal's injunction will continue until the business cooperates with the subpoenas.
