Repair work to begin on 38th Street bridge this weekend

The Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA) will be completing repair work on eastbound I-70 on the 38th Street Bridge beginning on Sunday, Sept. 30.

In order to complete the repair work the following lane and ramp closures will be in place, 24/7 round the clock, beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30 and reopening to all traffic at 6 a.m. on Friday, October 5.
  •  Eastbound I-70 right lane at the 38th Street Bridge
  • Northbound I-635 to eastbound I-70 ramp
  • Eastbound I-70 to 38th Street ramp
Advance message boards will alert traffic to the lane and ramp closures.

Drivers should expect major delays during peak commute times and must use alternate routes during the ramp closures.

Updated daily traffic information for this project can be viewed online at: www.ksdot.org/kcmetro/laneclose.asp.

Project work is scheduled to be completed on Friday, October 5, weather permitting.
