Sporting KC midfielder Graham Zusi named to U.S. Men's National Team

Sporting Kansas City midfielder Graham Zusi will join the United States Men's National Team for a pair of upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Jamaica, the United States Soccer Federation announced on Sunday.

Zusi, 26, is one of 25 players chosen by head coach Jurgen Klinsmann and arrived in Miami on Sunday for the team's training camp.

The United States will face Jamaica on Sept. 7 at Independence Park in Kingston, Jamaica (7 p.m. CT; beIN SPORT), followed by a rematch with the Reggae Boyz on Sept. 11 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio (7 p.m. CT; ESPN2).

"It is always an honor to play for your National Team and I am very excited to be called in for World Cup qualifying," Zusi said. "This is a great time for American soccer and I will do whatever I can and work extremely hard to contribute."

Zusi, who ranks second in MLS this season with 12 assists, has made three appearances in international friendlies for the United States in 2012, scoring a goal in a 1-0 win at Panama in January and playing in the country's historic 1-0 win at Mexico last month.

The U.S. currently leads Group A with four points, ahead of Jamaica based on goal differential. The United States team will be seeking its first ever victory in World Cup qualifying on Jamaican soil.

Zusi will return on September 12, two days prior to Sporting KC hosting the Houston Dynamo.
