Reardon is expected to make the announcement later today in a statement, The Star reports.
The filing deadline for the Feb. 26 election is noon on Jan. 22. The general election will be held on April 2.
UG commissioner Nathan Barnes has filed as a mayoral candidate. Other commissioners also could throw their hats into the ring before the Jan. 22 deadline.
