Winter weather advisory issued for Kansas City

If you look outside right now, it looks like a spring thunderstorm is hitting the Kansas City metro area.  However, that hasn't stopped the National Weather Service from issuing a winter weather advisory.

The advisory is in place from 9 p.m. until noon tomorrow.

Here's the forecast from the National Weather Service:
A chance of rain showers before 9pm, then a chance of rain between 9pm and midnight, then snow likely after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 27. Blustery, with a north wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
