Former Piper wrestler wins NCWA championship

A former wrestler at Piper High School has won a National Collegiate Wrestling Championship.

Derrick Weller, who competed in the 149-pound weight level, currently wrestles at Lindenwood-St Charles.

He entered the tournament as the nine-seed.

He defeated Central Florida's Matt Vaughn in the final.
