Harrington elected mayor of Bonner Springs, McTaggart re-elected in Edwardsville

While the biggest news in Wyandotte County tonight was the election of Mark Holland, Wyandotte County's two other cities also had mayoral elections.

In Edwardsville, John McTaggart defeated Doug Spangler 388 votes to 323. Percentage wise, he won by 9 percent. Spangler was the challenger to McTaggart, who entered the race as the incumbent.

Meanwhile, Bonner Springs will have its first new mayor long time. Current mayor Clausie Smith announced he wouldn't run seek another term.

Replacing him will be Jeff Harrington, who easily won against Jack Knight. Harrington claimed 64 percent of the vote.
