More information about the vacant UG seat

UG News Release:
The Unified Government Board of Commissioners is looking for citizens interested in filling the vacant At-Large District One position. The seat was left vacant when Mark Holland was elected as Mayor.

Applicants shall submit their name and place of residence along with a one page resume of their interest and qualification for the office. The resume should also include information about any elected offices the applicant has been a candidate for or held in the past.

Applications are due by the close of business on Friday, May 17. They must be filed in the Unified Government Clerk’s office on the 3rd floor of City Hall, 701 N 7th Street, Kansas City, Kansas.

The Wyandotte County Election Commissioner will review the applications to ensure the applicants meet all qualifications, including being a United States citizen, a qualified voter in Wyandotte County and a resident of At-Large District One.

A Special Session of the Unified Government Board of Commissioners will be held Thursday, May 30 to interview all applicants for the position. Specific details about the interview and selection process will be publicized the week of May 6.
