Barnes, Shields, Smith and Bidinger sail to victory lane

By RODNEY WHITE, LakesideSpeedway.net

Tim Setzer used his front-row starting spot to jump out to the early lead in  the USRA A-Modified division.

Setzer led the first 16 laps before the first caution flew. Nic Bidinger took advantage of lapped traffic, as he was able to close the gap between him and Setzer. The two traded the lead three different times, but in the end, it was Bidinger who would find himself in Victory Lane for the second time in the last two weeks.

In the Grand National Division, Don Marrs used a powerful exit off of turn two to build a lead on the field. However, Marrs met his match with the turn three wal, as he would clip the wall twice. Marrs and Shields traded the top spot lap after lap. In the end it was Tim Shields and his 42T machine that  powered past Marrs and on the Victory.

The ultra-competitive USRA B-Modified Division found Brad Smith trying to reclaim a win that he lost due to an incident with a lapped car on Saturday. Smith proved to be a man on a mission, as he powered his Cheata chassis to victory lane. It took Smith just three laps to find himself in the second spot. He was able to hold off Gene Claxton for the win.

The Factory Stocks once again put on one of the best shows of the night. Points leader Nate Barnes found himself in victory lane, but not after some hard work. Shaun Foster, who was looking for his first win at Lakeside Speedway in 2013, ended up in the second spot. However, he led for 12 of the 15 laps. Barnes was able to work his way past Foster for the feature win and to extend his points lead.
