Hotter weather on the way

KANSAS CITY, KAN. --- At long last, it appears the dog days of summer are about to show up.

The National Weather Service is warning of increasing temperatures beginning this weekend. 

Heat indices in the upper 90's and 100 degrees are in the forecast for all days between Sunday and Thursday. 

Full forecast from the National Weather Service: 
AFTER A PERIOD OF COOLER TEMPERATURES DURING THE FIRST HALF OF AUGUST...TEMPERATURES ON SUNDAY WILL BUILD IN THE LOW TO MIDDLE 90S WITH HEAT INDEX VALUES IN THE UPPER 90S TO NEAR 100. BY THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK...TEMPERATURES WILL CLIMB INTO THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 90S WITH HEAT INDEX VALUES BETWEEN 98 TO 103 DEGREES. ALSO BY MIDWEEK OVERNIGHT TEMPERATURES IN THE URBAN CORE OF KANSAS CITY WILL ONLY DROP INTO THE UPPER 70S. THESE PROLONGED WARM CONDITIONS WITH LITTLE TO NO RELIEF DURING THE NIGHT TIME HOURS WILL LEAD TO DANGEROUS IF NOT DEADLY CONDITIONS.
