Weeks after the new downtown MetroCenter was opened, a ceremony marking the new Midtown KCK MetroCenter was held on Friday, Sept. 27.

A $5.5 million investment, the center will host 12 buses and will help accommodate 31 new Connex stops along State Avenue in Kansas City, Kan.

In addition, the new 11,000 square-foot facility will host the midtown patrol division of the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department, a Transit Community Space and the mobility management services for the Area Agency on Aging.

"This is a big day for Wyandotte County," said Unified Government Mayor/CEO Mark Holland. "It's about moving people to jobs. This is about moving people from east to west. This is a great opportunity for Wyandotte County."
