Holiday Lighting Ceremony to be held Nov. 22

The downtown Holiday Lighting Ceremony will be held in Kansas City, Kan., on Nov. 22.

The Holiday Season just around the corner and plans are underway for the annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony in Downtown KCK.

Mayor Holland will continue the tradition of the Holiday Lighting Ceremony on Friday, November 22.  Festivities will begin at 4:00 p.m. in and around the first floor of City Hall at 7th & Barnett.

In addition to a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, there will be visits from other holiday characters, entertainment by local school and community groups and a neighborhood group tree decorating contest. There will be a hot air balloon night glow (weather permitting). Mayor Holland and his family will conclude the festivities by lighting the Mayor's Christmas Tree at 7:00 p.m.

This popular annual event is paid for mostly with donations and sponsorships. Businesses or individuals interested in contributing can get more information by contacting the KCK Chamber of Commerce at 913-371-3070.
