KCKFD issues temporary ban on outdoor burning

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- For the second time this week, the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department is issuing a ban on outdoor burning. 

News release from the KCK Fire Department:
The National Weather Service forecast for today November 8, 2013 indicates high winds for the majority of the day causing concerning for outdoor fires. The Kansas City Kansas Fire Department asks that all residents who have burn permits for today refrain from any outdoor burning until further notice.

Any residence whose three (3) day burn permit that expires today, can go to their nearest Fire Station to request a burn permit for whenever the burn ban is lifted. Outdoor burn permits must be issued twenty-four (24) hours before the three (3) day burn permit starts.
