KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Britney Ackerman, a 19-year-old from Kansas City, Kan., was killed in a car accident this week in La Junta, Color.
The Associated Press reports that Ackerman was ejected from a 2003 Chevy Cavalier after the vehicle went off U.S. Highway 50 and struck a traffic sign.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, she wasn't wearing a seat-belt.
Ackerman was not the driver of the vehicle, who was not harmed in the accident. Investigators suspect drugs may be connected to the accident.
