Register now for Kids Cooking Class

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Kansas City Kansas Community College is offering kids a chance to get into the kitchen and cook.

Kids Cooking Camp- Cooking With Rice is a class that will explore the many types and uses of rice.

Students will learn the importance of measuring and cooking rice properly as well as examine recipes that use rice for a main dish, side dish and even dessert.

Students will then have the chance to taste test several types of rice and prepare a dish to enjoy in class. Basic kitchen and food preparation safety will also be discussed. Other sessions of the Kids Cooking Camp are scheduled for later this spring and will include topics such as pasta and potatoes.

The class is from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 8 at the KCKCC Conference Center, 7250 State Ave. The tuition is $20. Registration closes Feb. 8.
