Art Bra KC preview pop-up installation “Garden of Hope” unveils April 1st Legends Outlets

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Legends Outlets Kansas City is teaming up with Art Bra KC to house the first and largest Art Bra KC preview display showcasing more than 40 work-of-art bras in a unique and romantic pop-up window installation.

The display, titled “Garden of Hope,” will premier April 1 and serve as a month-long preview leading up to Art Bra KC’s unique auction event where breast cancer survivors model eclectic one-of-a-kind bras in a live fashion show to raise funds for uninsured/underinsured cancer patients.

Garden of Hope is a romantic display filled with locally designed one-of-a-kind art bras donated by family and friends of breast cancer patients and survivors, local artists, celebrities and volunteers.

For the first time in Art Bra KC’s history, more than 40 art bras will remain on display at Legends Outlets throughout April to recognize breast cancer survivors and patients, and provide guests with a month-long event preview.

Additionally, Garden of Hope offers a beautiful display showcasing the art bras where designers, family and friends can visit.

Garden of Hope designers Dava Holden, Art Bra KC’s lead stylist, and Stacey Puliatti, Art Bra KC’s makeup artist and headpiece designer, are honored volunteers who truly capture the meaning of strength, beauty and hope through their display. Garden of Hope features a gigantic, hand-made ivy wall spreading pink love and joy showcasing the unique art bras throughout.

“Stacey and I are very passionate about Art Bra KC and hope to encourage Garden of Hope viewers to attend Art Bra KC’s event on May 2.  Our goal is to touch as many lives as we can through the Art Bra KC Funds that are raised at that event,” Holden said.

Garden of Hope occupies the window space in suite M-129, across from Brooks Brothers Factory Store in Legends Outlets’ Civic Courtyard Fountain. Garden of Hope will unveil April 1 at 6:30 p.m.

The unveiling is open to the general public. Garden of Hope will remain on display from April 1 – 29.

Art Bra KC is a unique and fun auction event showcasing eclectic work-of-art bras modeled by breast cancer survivors to celebrate their triumph over cancer.  The auction also includes more than 50 works of art donated by local artists.

A tribute to survivors’ fighting spirit, Art Bra KC’s mission is “to uniquely celebrate breast cancer survivors and provide funding for Kansas City area organizations that provide life-empowering services to uninsured and underinsured individuals who have been touched by cancer.”

Family and friends of breast cancer patients and survivors, local artists, celebrities and volunteers design and donate one-of-a-kind art bras to judges who select the top 25 designs for Art Bra KC’s annual fashion show and auction.

Breast cancer survivors model the top designs with supplemental fashions and accessories from local boutiques and shopping centers. This year, Legends Outlets is proud to provide four-five styles for the fashion show.

Art Bra KC benefits the University of Kansas Cancer Center Patients in Need Fund for uninsured/underinsured cancer patients at Missys’ Boutique, provided $65,000 to KU for Lymphedema services, and just announced that it will open a new cancer appearance in May 2014 in the Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Care Center at Truman Medical Center.

This year’s Art Bra KC sponsors include KU Plastic Surgery, Bank of Kansas City, Hallmark Cards, Quinn Plastic Surgery and many others. Garden of Hope display sponsors include the Legends Outlets Kansas City, Page Communications, Dava Holden of Chic Designs, Stacey Puliatti of Femme Fab, Bob and Tracy Gates of Home Depot, Hobby Lobby Shawnee, Earl May and Westlake Ace Hardware.
