Curtis selected by Democrats to serve out Peterson's term

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- Pam Curtis was selected tonight by the Wyandotte County Democratic Party to serve out Kansas Rep. Mike Peterson's remaining term.

Curtis, currently employed at McAnany Van Cleave & Phillips, was recently the Chief of Staff of former Unified Government Mayor/CEO Joe Reardon.

While working as Reardon's Chief of Staff, Curtis was the Lead Coordinator of the Google Fiber Project.

She was also involved as the mayor's representative in negotiations to land the Cerner and Sporting Kansas City development project in Western Wyandotte County.

Curtis will bring a wealth of experience in local government to the Kansas House of Representatives.

She served as the Arts Administrator for the City of Kansas City, Kan. and was the Economic Development Program Manager for KCK.

She was also former Kansas Gov. John Carlin's Director of Constituent Services and served as an assistant to Carlin.

Peterson died on February 18. He had served the 32nd House District from 1979 to 1990 and then returned to the House in 2005.
