Stewart sentenced to 233 months in prison

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ---- Christopher Stewart was sentenced to 233 months in prison after killing Graciela Olivas during a police chase.

More information from the Wyandotte County District Attorney's Office: 
Christopher Stewart, Black Male, DOB: 05-02-85, was sentenced this morning in Wyandotte County District Court to a controlling sentence of 233 months in prison.

He had previously pleaded guilty to Second Degree Murder and Eluding a Police Officer in connection with the February 17, 2014, death of Graciela Olivas in a vehicle crash at the intersection of 34th Street and Shawnee Drive in Kansas City, Kansas.

That sentence was ordered to run consecutive to a 36 month sentence imposed on Stewart in an unrelated case for the crime of Possession of Methamphetamine.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Sheryl Lidtke prosecuted the case for the State of Kansas.

The sentences were imposed by District Judge Robert P. Burns.
