KANSAS CITY METRO TRAFFIC: Eastbound K-10 at Lexington Avenue

Kansas Department of Transportation

Eastbound K-10 at Lexington Avenue will be closed to all traffic for emergency pavement repair work beginning at 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22 and will reopen to all traffic at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, October 23, weather permitting.

Due to the bridge repair work underway at Lexington Avenue, eastbound K-10 traffic has been shifted partly onto the left shoulder and the shoulder pavement has not held up to the increased traffic.

The one open lane, the left lane, must be closed so that crews can safely complete pavement repair work on the left shoulder which buts up to the left lane edge.

During the overnight roadway closure, eastbound K-10 traffic will detour via Lexington Avenue exit, north on Lexington Avenue to Kill Creek Road, south on Kill Creek Road back to eastbound K-10. Drivers should expect only minor delays during the overnight closure.

Updated daily traffic information for this project and for the entire Kansas City Metro Area can be viewed online any time at: www.ksdot.org/kcmetro/laneclose.asp.

The Kansas Department of Transportation and  the Kansas Turnpike Authority urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.

The overall bridge project is scheduled to be completed in early December 2014, weather permitting.
