BASEHOR, KAN. ---- Coming into the season, one of the biggest question marks for the Basehor-Linwood boys basketball team was the guard position.

Having lost most of their guards from the 19-4 sub-state championship last year, some wondered how this year's group would do.

Against De Soto, the Bobcats' guards continued to impress in the 66-43 victory on the road against the Wildcats.

Basehor-Linwood's guards scored 50 of the team's 66 points in the win. Big men Patrick Muldoon and Carson Fliger scored just 13 points combined, with Muldoon scoring 12 and Fliger scoring a single point.

Jahron McPherson led the team in scoring with 15 points, while Jack Dale scored 12 points and Joe Gorman added 10 points. Brock Gilliam added 7 points and Ben Hazel and Kurtis Tatkenhorst each scored three points.

Forward Nick Fisher finished with 3 points.

The Bobcats out-scored De Soto 15-4 in the opening quarter and took a 37-18 lead into halftime. De Soto cut the lead down to 47-37 by the end of the third quarter, but Basehor-Linwood pulled away in the fourth quarter, out-scoring De Soto 19-6.

With the win, Basehor-Linwood is 12-0 on the season. Basehor-Linwood jumps back into league play beginning next week.
