Joshua Brazeal pleads guilty in car crash that killed KCK woman

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ---- Joshua Brazeal pleaded guilty in connection to the death of a local woman who was killed in a crash.

He pleaded guilty this week to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated battery and criminal possession of a firearm.

Police pulled him over on Aug. 19 after discovering he was driving a stolen vehicle.

Speeding off from police at 18th and Central, Brazeal eventually crashed into a Toyota Camry on the 3800 Block of Haskell Ave. Geraldine Strader was thrown from the Toyota Camry and later died at the hospital. She was 79 years old.

A second woman was also injured.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 6.

Charges of leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license were dropped in exchange for the guilty pleas.
