KANSAS CITY METRO TRAFFIC: Westbound I-435 from U.S. 69 to I-35 10-day lane closure

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ---- Westbound I-435 left through lane (located between concrete barrier) from U.S. 69 to I-35 will be closed, 24/7 round the clock, for bridge work beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23 and reopening to all traffic at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, weather permitting.

Crews will need to access the lane to construct two pier caps. These pier caps will support each of the new two-lane flyover ramps in this interchange.

Drivers should expect major delays and should use alternate routes, if possible and allow extra time for their daily commutes.

Advance message boards will alert traffic to the lane closure. No marked detours will be provided. Drivers should expect delays and may wish to use alternate routes during this 10-day lane closure.

Updated daily traffic information for the #jocogateway interchange project can be viewed at: www.jocogateway.com and for the entire Kansas City Metro Area at: www.ksdot.org/kcmetro/laneclose.asp.

The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
