Kansas Volunteer Commission seeking applications for AmeriCorps Kansas

KANSAS CITY, KAN. ----- In an effort to address community needs statewide, the Kansas Volunteer Commission has re-opened the 2015-2016 application process for potential AmeriCorps Kansas programs.

WHO CAN APPLY: Non-profit organizations; state agencies; local governments; elementary and secondary schools; Indian tribes; colleges and universities; community and faith-based organizations; and other organizations representing a combination of these groups, working together.


FUNDING TYPE: Federal funding from the Corporation for National and Community Service is administered by the Kansas Volunteer Commission. These funds are available in the form of AmeriCorps Kansas program grants and follow a cost-reimbursement structure.

APPLICATION DEADLINES:
  • Notice of Intent to Apply (Required) - March 20, 2015 at 4 p.m. CST
  • Grant Application and Supporting Documents – March 26, 2015 by 4 p.m. CST
Successful applicants will be notified no later than May 2015 of their selection, contingent on timely full year appropriations. More information about this funding opportunity is available at www.kanserve.org.

The Kansas Volunteer Commission supported more than  1,000 organizations in 2014 through its programming, training and funding opportunities.

During that time, nearly 180 AmeriCorps members leveraged 4,100 volunteers through eight Kansas programs.
