Despite the rain this week (March 31-April 3), the Interstate 35 pavement reconstruction project is still on schedule for the following work and related lane and ramp closures:
- Sometime this weekend April 4-5, weather permitting, the northbound I-35 lanes will be shifted into the traffic configuration for Phase One construction and median crossover construction at each end of the project will take place the week of April 6-10, weather permitting.
- Sometime the weekend of April 11-12, weather permitting, the Santa Fe Street/135th Street to southbound I-35 entrance ramp and the southbound I-35 to Old U.S. 56 exit ramp will be closed to all traffic. Southbound I-35 lanes will be shifted to the northbound side. All I-35 traffic will be carried on the existing northbound lanes separated by concrete barrier while the southbound lanes are reconstructed. Marked detours will be provided for the ramp closures.
