Goodwin selected as league hitter of the week

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The American Association has announced that T-Bones infielder Devin Goodwin is the league’s Pointstreak Hitter of the Week for July 15-21.

Goodwin, who has a seven-game hitting streak heading into Monday night’s game, hit .419 (13 for 31), with three doubles, three home runs and 14 RBIs in the seven games during the week. Additionally, Goodwin struck out only three times in the seven games.

On Thursday, in Kansas City’s 11-7 win over Amarillo, Goodwin had two home runs, five RBIs and scored three runs.

During the week, Goodwin’s average climbed 17 points (from .286 to .303), slugging percentage shot up 42 points (.481 to .523) and on-base percentage went up 20 points (.335 to .355).

Goodwin is the second T-Bones player to receive the league honor this month. Matt Padgett was selected as the Hitter of the Week on July 8.

The T-Bones return home from a seven-game roadtrip on Friday, July 26, when they play host to El Paso at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
